I don't do junk TV. :-)

(Yeah, I know that's weird and unAmerican. I've been told repeatedly.)

More complicated than that and you know it. The recession was here before 911 and Iraq. It's the hangover from that party in the '90s.

Those big bubbles have consequences. The huge amount of debt put into useless investments during them results in bankruptcies, layoffs, and falling economic activity for years to come. At some point the economy finds a sustainable level. But it wont be like 1999, let me assure you. Those managers in high tech companies you spoke of had best learn new skills and prepare for pay cuts and new jobs.

There may be a few exceptions such as yourself, but most of that crowd on Don't are against this war because Bush is President. Most of them and their views are well known to the conservative faction. A claim that they suddenly became abti-Bush because of the war won't fly; we know better. They would be pushing for this war if Gore were Prexy and wanted it.

Why is this so different from the Balkans? The Balkans is the classic quagmire. And what business did we ever have going in there? If Yugoslavia was dangerous to us, then Iraq is a superpower. Where were those Europeans all those years? It's their backyard.

Human rights violations? Yeah, Milosovic was guilty. Does anyone care to claim Saddam is not?

Where were all those peaceniks and their signs when Clinton led us in there?

Sorry. As I said, there are some exceptions- -maybe 5%. But 95% of what I said is true.
