I think the way the church feels is relevant if Bush is promoting himself as doing God's bidding. These clergymen who are better versed in the verses than GW are refuting his claims. But GW listens to no one, nothing, except the voices in his head. It would be nice if the rest of us could hear.

I think the way churches feel is very relevant to the citizenry- and how THEY feel- because they are entitled to pursue whatever agenda they want as private citizens. That IS after all, what the separation is all about. You can promote your religious conscience as a private citizen, you just (imo) shouldn't do it as a servant of a multi-religious and non-religious society- when you are part of the government.
