Someone said in the last few days that management should be terminated if they hedged in this environment

I’ve owned a few small businesses. Forward contracts allowed me to know a little about the future, which was more, then 3 months away.

The banks liked them ( I was always in debt) ,I could always plan ahead, my best asset(my employees were safe) I could always buy out the competition because I had the backing and thus I could grow at my own pace.

There were days that the old economy was up and days when it was down. I hardly noticed and my people weren’t scared of loosing their jobs. We realized the old American dream and guess what….. Those folks that I did my hedging with ended up as my partners in crime. They were profitable as well as us.

In a way my customers were my partners. Go figure…..

Jim

Like I said ….it was always small business and not the oil business.

Patience EP - March through May will reveal a record low in storage and a very weak refill rate. During this period institutions will gain confidence in NG prices.

This rapid drop in storage has taken the vast majority by complete surprise and the reality about supply demand imbalances was just really felt last week in the markets.

I think these guys got hammered in 2001 and again in the Summer of 2002 when NA NG plays got hammered.

I dont think DVN's deal helped the market much. Now when someone offers $16 for CRK maybe things will heat up.
