Rummy's comments were dumb, but I think W's axis of evil comment was really stupid...and then he followed that one up by calling Kim a "little pygmy." He doesn't think much beyond the immediate impact of the sound bite. The North Koreans were coming along slowly . cooperating with the world for the most part...being fairly good citizens, and W had to go and disrespect them on the public stage. Very bad...you want to really fire up Asians (and particularly the Koreans), make them lose face in public. Of course these guys are going to go ballistic, they see themselves on the list after Iraq. W has handled that situation terribly. W having never traveled before becoming President is a very telling fact in my book. He is the ugly American I hate to see on my travels.
