And you see new Europe siding with the US, while old Europe, who got the most help from the US, going toward Russia.

"New" Europe knows about dictators and oppression.

Hmaly, <My guess is that as soon as the troops held up by Turkey are in place, where ever that is, the war will begin in earnest. Some say it has already begun. It was said this AM that Russia might introduce troops, to help UN inspectors, so you can bet, in order to avoid problems, the US will go before they get there.>

The problem is that America needs to notify the inspectors in Iraq before war begins. Right now, they are unwittingly serving as human shields in more ways than one. What if the U.N. refuses to withdraw the inspectors before war? Say for example they believe strongly in "exhausting all options before going to war," to the point that they won't leave?

After all, bombing idiot peaceniks is one thing. Bombing U.N. inspectors is yet another.
