Jim_p, Funny you mention this because I was giving some thought to investing in a drilling program. CK Cooper has just done a study evaluating some of these, and the results are shown in the following press release: biz.yahoo.com I don't know anything about petroleum engineering but my thought was that if you picked someone who's been doing this for awhile and serving his investors well you'd have a pretty good shot. Kinda like buying a stock. BRG Petroleum, in Tulsa, ran away with all the key awards. By any chance have you heard of them? Run mostly by the Burkhart family it appears. Web site is at brgcorp.com
