>What I'm referring to is the fact that the change is always toward the Left. While we go through brief periods during which the courts tilt to the right (for example, when a two-term Republican president appoints several justices), over the course of our nation's history, there has been a persistent move to the Left.

Well, wouldn't that make sense? Conservatism by definition represents the old, and liberalism represents the new.

I'd argue that we're on our way in the other direction right now.

>I just wonder sometimes are there limits? Or do we just continue the Leftward bias into perpetuity...

Come on, Dave, step into the void... umm... we've got pie.

What I'm referring to is the fact that the change is always toward the Left.

You can't have change and go to the right.....its an oxymoron. That's THE irony of this country. This country is most proud of its ability to change and improve particularly in business, and its forever asking the world to give it its tired and weak.....and the world does. That is begging for change to happen.

And yet it has this conservative old guard who wants to keep things the way they were. An incredible tension is created and at times, it looks like it will lead to some explosion but never does.
