not silent at all I was avidly posting on the DSTW thread a while back here is my stand on it: I don't want to go to war - killing of people, world opinion against us I don't want to occupy Iraq, expensive and they're all nuts in the middle east, nor do I think it will solve anything - and to change those medieval cultures into the 21st century will take decades - they have a history of centuries of not getting along - nor do I think they will ever accept Israel however, I'll believe my government long before I'll believe any foreign government - the US looks out for MY interests first and foremost - I will support our decision 100%, I will support our people in the military 100% I'm also tired of people, foreigners and Americans criticizing the US for just about every move we've ever made and are now making in the world political arena - trying to deal with and have diplomatic ties with a less than desirable government does not mean it is a ruling party we fully support, it means it is the lesser of two evils we have to work with - we don't pick and choose their governments, we try and influence, we try and work with what we feel is the best of usually a bad situation or we can just say screw it and withdraw completely from the world arena and let them have at it what kind of a world do you think they will form in 25 years? what kind of a world for the next generation? and to imply or say Saddam is a brute, but basically a harmless one is just plain stupid - if he can, and he has proven he will continually try, he will do anything, any where to anyone, to any country he can for personal gains, for power, for ego, the rest of the world be damned - it's not like he's doing it for his people, hell, he's proven they are totally disposable to him - he's your basic monster - I see nothing changing that but having him gone and...Turkey, Germany, France and Russia are making a BIG mistake - don't bite the hand that feeds you - if they need us for something, they will be on our doorstep in a New York minute
