I agree with you analysis of some of the underlying forces in Africa. However, I think it is not a complete set of forces so you jump to your conclussion too quickly. It would be interesting to see how the Black Death plague shaped religious belief in Europe. I think that Africa could experience mass migrations that put pressure on Middle Eastern countries. I also think that completely intractable famines are possible with entire regions depopulating. Don't forget the swift brutality we learned is possible from Rwanda. Many outcomes are possible, non look good.
