Anything anyone says on this topic gets met with a barrage from the other side. I sometimes wonder why barrages with teeth bared are the preferred form of discourse on SI. It's a pretty ineffective form of persuasive communication.

Laz, There is a reason why E and I "chit-chat about Survivor" here, and it's not because we're unintelligent, uninformed, or uncaring about the Iraq situation. It's because we're friends trying to help each other through a terribly tense time by using levity. I posted what I did to Wayne not to draw debate, but to give honest expression to my oversaturation by the media, and my ambivalence about what is a very complex global situation. I'm going to keep my posts here light and friendly, and probably not too focused on the Iraq situation because I am looking to SI for friendship rather than arguments at this point. I hope you understand.
