Tom, re "Sprint can use Nextwave in the 5 mhz markets, and if it chooses, build out its 15 mhz markets with EVDO. Why wait for the ephemeral EVDV?"

Good question. With either EV-DO or EV-DV, I think handoffs to a 1x cell site will occur. IOW, neither EV-DO nor EV-DV will be everywhere. I guess that could be a hard handoff, but the subscriber would not have to re-establish the data connection.

Which reminds me. The handoff (handover) from an EV-DO connection on a carrier's carrier (Nextwave) to GPRS of another carrier should be interesting.
