I believe HP has, coincidentally, about $15B of Goodwill on its balance sheet:

Perhaps there's some concern about its value. As I recall, Sun recently wrote down almost all of the goodwill they were carrying. It's not clear to me HP won't find itself in the same situation.

Won't argue with that. Still, Enron engaged in a lot of shifting of funds, and that appeared on the books FIRST. As a result, people are getting spooked at the slightest whiff of impropriety, regardless of whether it is legit or not.
