Today's Democrats have far more contempt for blacks than any slave owner or slave trader who existed before the Civil War.

THAT'S what you BUY when you sell out to charlatans, and fabricate votes for them...

Democratic leadership does not necessarily represent black interests, but may, indeed, be selling snake oil.

Why does Bush deserve credit? Because he is the first president to appoint a black man to a post of that stature, regardless of what Gore might have done.

Condi Rice is a former National Security Council staffer with excellent credentials in academia. She deserves that spot.

The Democratic Party has taken their African-American voter base for granted. Why aren't they represented in the top leadership positions of the party?

I hardly think that Powell and Condoleezza Rice were selected as "tokens." That is actually a pretty reprehensible comment on your part. Bush is color-blind.

Powell would never have joined a Gore administration. Read David Halberstram's "War in a Time of Peace: Bush, Clinton and the Generals." Powell had nothing but contempt for the Clinton-Gore foreign policy team.
