re: I'm working from memory of history here, but I think that by the early 1930's Germany was already the largest 'active' military power on the Continent. also from my less than perfect memory, was not hitler not in any position to do anything until after the death of Hindenburg in 1934. in 1936 german army consisted of 22,000 which is far smaller than Sadam's johndclare.net
