also could be due to the fact that the jobs numbers (employer sampling) and unemployment rate (household sampling) come from different surveys. i am pretty certain that the employer survey is MUCH broader than the household (and thus presumably would be more accurate)

someone told me the government assumes those on unemployment are those seeking work. if your unemployment runs out, u r no longer counted as unemployed
