Folks that I trust tell me that the U.S. is approaching 8.0 million umemployed.

This number is not derived from govt stats, so it might be either much more accurate, or way off. It does dove-tail with the employment implosion that I document anecdotally every day when I am out in the field.

Reaper, some years ago the BLS reduced the sample size ( conveniently reducing in areas of high unemployment). the dept should drop the "L" and call itself the BS dept. mike ho ho ho
