I think in as much as war can every be considered "noble" a great noble tradition of war is lost. And I think (really mean this) that we should pass a constitutional amendment to enforce this noble tradition. I am of course talking about the old tradition of sons of upper class serving in war.

As part of my life philosophy of not protecting people from consequences of their actions, I believe that children and grandchildren of presidents, congressmen, and the top 3 layers of government should serve in the front lines in the event of any war. Now it would not be fair to put them in front of bullets without training. But they should be trained and at the very very least, they should be in position to observe the horrors of war first hand. I am not amused by the news clips of Bravo Company, where every single one of them seemed to be from lower to much lower class of society.
