It can't be done overnight. That evolution, which has been progressing since the 1970s, will take a lot more time.

Meanwhile, it is futile to deny that oil is a current vital strategic resource. It keeps people alive.

Well, we could make our economy a lot more energy efficient or even kick our oil habit altogether.
