Well, I just typed a long response to you and SI ate it. Let's just say we disagree.

The one new thought that did emerge is that a French-German-Russian-China alliance might not be a very bad thing. I don't like the UN at all but I don't want it to take forever for new structures to emerge. No matter how well intended the US wont unilaterally give up power. An opposition to the US is a healthy thing right now. However, I can't see it lasting very long but I wouldn't mind if it did.
