Sale and activation of pre-paid wireless data services offered at point of sale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. and STAMFORD, Conn., March 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wireless Retail, Inc., one of the nation's largest retailers of wireless phones and services, and SmartServ Online, Inc., a leading Wireless Applications Service Provider (Nasdaq: SSOL - News) today announced the launch of the Mobile Fun N Games(TM) program. This program puts pre-paid cards, activated at retail Point of Sale (POS), directly in the hands of wireless subscribers -- bundling products like ringtones along with the sale and activation of selected handsets, making them readily available for download.

"This dramatically changes the distribution model for data application sales," said Sam Cassetta, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SmartServ Online, Inc. "Wireless Retail's initial commitment of over $100k to the Mobile Fun N Games program creates a winning situation for SmartServ and Wireless Retail as we broaden the exposure of applications and services into new markets -- the Mobile Fun N Games program gives customers a great reason to explore new generation mobile data services on their wireless phones," added Cassetta.

The Mobile Fun N Games program makes it easy for customers to try mobile data services. When a customer purchases a selected mobile phone and rate plan, a PIN and pre-set dollar value is assigned to the customer account at Point of Sale that can be used to download ringtones over the air from the Mobile Fun-N-Games web site. Games, graphics, and more are expected in the near term.

"We are excited by the launch of the Mobile Fun N Games program," said Chris Storbeck, Vice President Product Development, Wireless Retail, Inc. "Combined with our powerful POS solutions, The Mobile Fun-N-Games program provides a critical point of differentiation to lower the consumer barrier to entry, increase carrier ARPU, and reduce the cost to acquire a mobile data services subscriber." Added Storbeck
