I am clueless? Who's kids went to college and could use those deferments? Mainly wealthy people. Sure there are middle and lower class kids in college, but mainly kids from wealthy backgrounds, especially back in the 1960s and early 1970s. College wasn't as accessible back then.

Good for Clinton. That is one thing I really like about him that he had the guts to tell Uncle Sam that we were wrong on the Viet Nam war policy and avoided service. The Viet Nam war was wrong. He was smart enough to realize the futility of fighting the war in Viet Nam. If more people were smart and followed Clinton's lead and avoided service in Viet Nam, the war would have ended sooner and we would have less names on the wall in DC. I know I would have been one of them. Viet Nam was a pointless war and history has proven it to be so.
