I am an American. I believe that relative to the power we wielded, we have behaved more nobly that any other nation. We were involved in a Cold War and now in a War on Terrorism. War is a dirty business and our hands are both dirty and bloody. Saddam Hussein is an evil tyrant with blood on his hands. I am a very strong supporter of Israel and Saddam is the strongest enemy of Israel in the Middle East. I would love to see an Iraq without Saddam and without threatening weapons programs.

I am very strongly opposed to an attack on Iraq. I don't see that there is sufficient reason to sacrifice the lives of 10s of thousand US soldiers and 100s of thousand Iraqi military and civilians.

I lived through the Vietnam War and the lesson I learned is that I don't trust the competence or credibility of the US political institutions or the US military when American lives are on the line. I trust Bush and company less than any other administration during my lifetime.
