I agree the whole thing was odd. And has he read to any school kids since? I had the feeling back then that it was all fake. FDR also knew the Japanese were going to bomb Pearl Harbor and he let them because he wanted the US in the war. And America wanted to stay out, until Pearl Harbor. How many soldiers and sailors died at Pearl Harbor?

JFK was killed by the extreme right-wing. They can be very physically dangerous. So can extreme left-wingers. So can criminals. But in JFK's case, we lost a great president and it really was a coup d'etat, executed in and for the power of (I hate it say it but) Texas. Oh Texas, how you have disappointed me. Who killed Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy too? Don't forget. And don't forget who stole the White House in Florida. They really did. No doubt about it now. Boy were they slick. Bush isn't a legit president. And here he is telling the world he'd doing what he wants no matter what they say. Scary.

rock_nj, Since it was obvious that the attack took place only on the east coast, there was no reason to make the children wonder why he cut his visit short. If something as minor as that makes you "suspicious", you probably look under your bed every night to make sure the bogey man isn't there. Gee, I didn't know that JFK got killed in Dallas. What a simpleton you really are. In either case, had the President shown himself to be a coward (which you seem to think is just AOK) it would have crushed the soul, and courage, of the people. A President is the main man in America to set an example for all the citizens to follow. Unfortunately, a reprobate like Clinton gets elected by the unprincipled contingent in the nation sometimes. "What do they pay them for?" Who the hell do you think "they" are?? In the case of the salaries of every governmental person in DC, and the cost of every "give away" program, we the taxpayers are "they". We pay the President to be an example to the world of what it is to be an American. I guess you think the President should demonstrate that we are all cowards, like you must be, as attested to by your own words. What you find, what makes you suspicious, and what you think is puzzling, is just you pissing into the wind to get your feet wet. Grow up and be a man!! President Bush acted like a man. Why don't you try it for a change? That way you won't have to scrape the crap out of your diapers.
