Tom,

I can remember when the "bought and paid for folks" in congress were pushing to repeal the act. The fellow from New York was leading the effort in the senate and of course we know where the money was coming from to pay for the votes.

It is my opinion the government will not be putting "a crook away a day" until the public recognizes they have been taken to the cleaners. The public still is in the phase of denial and hope. If I remember correctly it took until the later part of the 1930's when laws were passed and the government dealt with the criminals.

I had lunch with a friend last week and she said that the corporate governance problems are solved and the market will come back. Ho Ho, I tried to educate her on the things that have not changed. Her statement told me the press, Washington and Wall Street are doing a great propaganda job - so far. This person has lost a significant part of her paper asset value in the market, but she has not bailed.
