So you're assuming the states that are hardest hit in this recession, that went with Bush last time (when the economy was great) will stick with him?

I really don't think so. I would say Georgia and Colorado are vulnerable, just off the top of my head. Those states were pretty close Bush vs. Gore anyway, and in a recession the other guy wins. It also depends on how Bush has treated the states in question. In California, Bush people have openly stated that the states with current budgetary crises are mismanaged and therefore its "tough luck". This infuriates most Californians, because although we have a loser governor, our major issue was Enron and fraud, and Bush is distancing himself from that issue as if it is something California created.

Bush might get some points with heavy military states where he lost last time... but I can't think of any of those.
