I never said that I didn't think Saddam was a bad guy..............

Funny... all the "peaceniks" seem to be falling back on that position, as if it mitigates their intransigent position AGAINST compelling Saddam to comply with UNSC 1441..

I just don't support going to war in Iraq.

I would love to hear any alternatives that don't require 250,000 American soldiers spending years living in tents in the Kuwaiti desert (as if that government could permit such a situation to continue)..

As for money to rebuild Afghanistan, I'm still waiting for the rest of the world to pitch in too.. Apparently they don't care either...

But the real rational is that there doesn't exist sufficient internal control by Karzai's government to justify billions in foreign aid. The principle goals will remain feeding the people, rebuilding the schools, and creating a centralized government.

It does appear embarrassing for the Bush administration to not include foreign aid for Afghanistan. But it also might be an attempt to force the various Afghan leaders to submit themselves to Karzai's government BEFORE Bush is willing to spend money there.
