Fox News reporting that Chirac says that France will withdraw from war on terror if the US attacks Iraq.

It's probably a Fox News item only. He would cross a dangerous line with such an action. Actually it's not even on the Fox Web site itself so far, here's the latest article:

Chirac: France Will Veto U.S.-British Resolution

Never happen in a rational world. Though our interests vis-a-vis Iraq may diverge, our interests vis-a-vis terror are utterly parallel.

If true, Chiraq is getting delusional.

Miss-translation from Fox. He said the usual theme, two-wars-too-many.

Must admit that he was rather good and often impressive... for the French that is.

Then a debate is going on with the usual suspects, including Kissinger.

But I'd rather read FADG. More genuine.

Re War on Terror, If not with us you are against us.
Resulting from 9-11 considerations
Means there was a global problem that needs fixing
We obviously could do little to protect homeland without cooperation from every nation we trade with (most)
Have to stop the Terrorists before they arrive, before they get on US bound ships or airplanes
Countries that do not improve improve luggage inspection, do not check passports, do not check or verify cargo containers, do not share their information about criminals, sell arms to terrorists, that permit cash or jewels to be transported without permission, or that harbor terrorists can defeat our attempts to maintain trade between Nations.
Countries who do not want to participate in that are against us, and various unspecified penalties will result
and not necessarily by the US alone.
It is not a black or white thing, but France has shifted into the gray area, headed the wrong way.
