I believe so. We consider other colours and races to be human beings. Women are entitled to have up to four orgasms, nowadays...

You just have to ask yourself if there are countries where you would rather not live. That ought to indicate whether or not humankind can make choices that are useful and beneficial.

Man is no different, or at least not significantly different. But our society has improved. Human nature having not changed the improvements in society and culture have to be maintained. Things can slip back becuase the changes are not changes in fundamental human nature.
