I did not advocate "Peace at all costs"

I simply called attention to the fact that our pattern
is to make deals with dictators to achieve what we think are our National interests, then chuck them out when they no longer deliver what we want.

Examples: Marcos, Noriega, Saddam Hussein.

Namaste!

Jim

Manufacturing suddenly started picking up when the war started (after being pretty slow for a month before), and it has been gaining momentum since then. Anyone else out there involved in manufacturing that has seen the pick up? With lower oil prices and increasing manufacturing activity the market may start to bounce back a bit.

Revivio Outlines Strategy to Deliver Time Addressable Storage

Breakthrough Technology Adds the Dimension of Time to Data Storage,
Enabling Instant Restore and Rapid Business Application Recovery

Lexington, Mass, June 2, 2003 - Revivio, Inc., an emerging leader in data protection technology, today announced its strategy to deliver a new class of storage, which enables enterprises to instantly access data as it existed at any previous point in time - a second, an hour, a day or even weeks ago. This new technology reduces recovery time for business applications affected by data loss, corruption or disaster and significantly reduces the expense and complexity associated with traditional point-in-time recovery methods such as backup/restore, mirror-splits and snapshots.

"In today's real-time, global economy, enterprise customers recognize that traditional approaches to data protection and business continuity are inadequate," stated Revivio CEO, Paul R. Lewis. "Revivio's time addressable storage solution changes the way IT managers think about backup and restore. It's exciting to see their faces light up as they realize the power this technology brings to their businesses."

Determined to improve upon outdated, ineffective and costly "single point-in-time" approaches to data protection, Revivio, a groundbreaking startup, is pioneering its vision of adding the dimension of time to the storage and retrieval of data.

"IT is rapidly coming to grips with the horrid reality that it simply cannot guarantee any reasonable restore capabilities, in any reasonable time frames - and it will only get worse," noted Steve Duplessie, Senior Analyst, Enterprise Storage Group. "Without a radically new way of doing things, we are going to see the cost of outages skyrocket. Traditional 'backup/recovery' methodologies never worked well and now we finally have to admit that shortly they won't work at all."

The benefits of Revivio's technology include:

reduced business risk from application downtime or permanent data loss;
significantly lower costs by reducing hard out-of-pocket expenses while enabling companies to repurpose expensive storage assets; and
dramatically simplified data protection processes.
Revivio's unique approach comes at a time when legal and regulatory mandates for business continuity have made data protection a top priority for many industries. Even in those industries that have thus far avoided rigid mandates, protecting data assets from disasters, natural or man-made, has become essential to business survival. Revivio's technology provides direct, immediate access to data at any point in time and represents the first enterprise-focused implementation of a new approach to data protection that industry experts are now dubbing, "Time Addressable Storage" or TAS.

"Revivio is taking its place on the leading edge of efforts to attack one of the most commonly cited pain points in data management - developing a cost-effective data protection strategy," said Jon William Toigo, CEO and Managing Partner USA for Toigo Partners International, a leading industry research firm. "Revivio's technology should give solace to data managers that technology options are emerging between the extremes of low efficacy tape backup and high cost multi-hop mirroring that will provide data protection with high confidence at an affordable price."

Delivered as a fully fault-tolerant, scalable, easy-to-operate appliance, Revivio's patent-pending technology provides enterprises with transparent and continuous data protection and instant data restoration for their most data intensive transaction processing environments.

Because it complements rather than replaces existing storage systems, the Revivio appliance integrates non-disruptively into virtually any currently installed storage infrastructure. Revivio's technology remains outside the primary data path, ensuring the integrity and performance of primary data is not impacted. The appliance protects and restores data at the block level providing support for databases, files systems and any other form of data. No new agents, drivers or other software must be installed on the host.

Seasoned Management Team Leads the Way
A seasoned management team, attracted by Revivio's powerful technology, tremendous market opportunity and strong technical talent, is driving the company forward. With over 100 years collective experience at startups and industry leaders, including IBM, EMC, and Compaq, these accomplished executives have proven expertise in successfully bringing enterprise technology solutions to market.

The management team works closely with the Revivio Advisory Board, an impressive group of influential end-users and industry experts who bring a broad cross-section of knowledge and experience to the company.

Backed by the Best
The strength of its ideas and people has enabled Revivio to raise funds in spite of a difficult economic climate. Charles River Ventures, Flagship Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners are among the premier investors standing firmly behind the Revivio vision.

Next Steps
The company is receiving especially positive response in the financial, pharmaceutical and retail industries. Revivio's appliance is currently being evaluated by several Fortune 500 enterprises prior to general release later this calendar year. The company will preview its systems at the Security Industry Association Technology Management Conference, June 17-19 at the New York Hilton - Booth 1614.
