Having lived my entire life in the South, where the Confederate flag is seen at times, I must say that there is literally no connection between the flag and slavery. The Confederate flag never stood for slavery or hatred of blacks. This is something cooked up by some southern blacks about 10-15 years ago, and they really need to get over it.

I take no pride in it and would not intend to offend anyone by displaying it; however, a person who wants to display any damned flag he wants to ought to be allowed to do it. A school, same thing. A government, same thing. The confederate flag does not represent "slavery" to any of these people/organizations.

To deny the confederacy existed is to deny our heritage, whether it be good or bad.
