These were indeed helpless and unresisting human beings being slaughtered in the commission of genocide.

Listen Sun, even if your weak argument had a scintilla of validity, it is irrelevant. Innocent human beings were slaughtered and that was wrong and punishable. The Balkans is replete with a history of centuries of mutual atrocities and resistance between the Croats, Serbs, and Bosnians. The hatred is palpable, and each side feels justified in killing innocents of the other side. Ethnic cleansing, then, you would argue, wasn't genocide? The Muslims did resist the Serbs, as did the Croats.
