If he were that much of a nutcase he would have used those weapons during the last Gulf War.

Besides, some would argue Bush is a nutcase, and look what he's got at his disposal.

Prosecuting this war completely opens the door for what you've described as horrible. Bush needs a two-pronged approach: a) go after the terrorists who committed 9/11; and b) deal with the issues that enable OBL types to recruit terrorists.

He's gone off course from a) above, and he's not even tried b) above.

At a minimum, if necessary to move into Iraq, he should definitely have Iraq's immediate neighbors on board; he should find a way to get the Israel-Palestinian issue on a positive tract before going in; he should completely disintegrate Al Qaeda.

Unfortunately, he's playing politics and putting politics before people. He needed the Iraqi war trumpet to win the congressional elections and he's planning on the war victory to take him into a second term, the theory being how can America deny him if he takes out Saddam.

Meanwhile, this rather stupid strategy Bush has of moving into Iraq with a Coalition of One Willing to Do The Killing, encourages OBL to take off his tunic and replace it with a Dallas Cowboys cheerleading outfit lettered in "G-O B-U-S-H!!! on the front.

Oh, and there's also the risk that if Saddam does have chemicals that in the confusion of the war some Al Qaeda types who moved into the city specifically for this reason, could end up running away with the goods.

In other words, where once there was a minimal theoretical threat, now becomes an almost certain threat. Bad move, Bill! Bad move all the way!!!
