Bill, I agree about the risk of bioweapons. I have always believed that the world will end when a single person can kill 100,000 easily.

Given our human frailty, it's not that difficult to find 1 person in 100,000 who is ready to kill 100,000 of his fellow people.

When that technological threshold is reached, it will be the end of history, no matter what Francis Fukuyama says.

That's why I insist that we enjoy our lives to the fullest. And save the inevitable killing for later.

100 billion stars in our galaxy. And 100 billion galaxies in our universe. Hard to believe that SETI can't find intelligent life anywhere. Must be those bioweapons. But for the remarkable achievements of intelligent life, our universe would be alive.
