I don't think Junior looked for the job. Rove and the oil men looked for him as a pliable puppet for their schemes. They had visions of Ronald Reagan in their head. None of them realized the combination of ignorance and stubborness that they would have to deal with. I think if another million people protest him he will pull out, just like Lyndon did. He would rather be a millionare rancher than have all these people lieing to him so that he in turn lies to others and looks like the fool that he tries to hide.

I think Bush thinks that if he takes Saddam out Americans will automatically reelect him, that he'll finally gain his legitimacy. Also on the plus side for him, his oil buddies rake it in.
