We must be talking about two different things. The GMO corn Monsanto is working on down the road from me is being modified so it's not attacked by corn borer and root worm.

They are also working on rust resistant beans. Less chemicals, not more.

Huh? I thought that the point of modification was to make crops disease resistant without pesticides and herbicides.

And traditional farmers don't have a clue. I remember dad telling us to get away from the God Damn sprayer because he vaguely understood it wasn't a good thing. Christ, we got that shit all over ourselves. At least we never put our foot in the God Damn auger...
