Yes, world opinion is opposed to the US right now. Yes, Bush is inept & is hurting the global community. His sweeping moves against the environment, the WCJ we are in agreement. Moslem world boycotting US products? Aside from oil, the trade we do with the oil-rich countries is insignificant. The Arab world hated us already. I believe that our policy of kow-towing to these countries is nuts. I would love it if we all drove fuel cell cars & the Arab world was starved of cash. The EU may grow in significance, but only with the help of the Eastern bloc which is very dependant on US investment. Heck, all of Europe is massively dependant on the US consumer. The opposition in France & Germany is quietly scared of the economic damage being done now. Without the US, most of these countries would have no export market. We are currently running a $6bn trade deficit with the EU(about 1bn of that is France). These countries have far more to lose by creating a new world order than us.
