Yes Patty, there are still some areas where women are subjected to this sort of disgraceful treatment.

One year ago, their punishment for the same behavior would have been death in a public display.

The people of Afganhistan are mostly free of the Taliban control. Taliban culture has / will exist forever there.

These are the facts Patty, but that does not change the fact that you are still a left wing, Bush hater now does it?

I can't imagine we will be bringing Democracy to Afghanistan. Whatever happens there, will happen as a result of the powers that fill the vacuum when we leave. I don't imagine we'll have much control over that, unless we want to leave a permanent force there. And I don't imagine we want to do that.
