BofA's McManus says stocks are 'cheaper' than they look By Tomi Kilgore
Banc of America strategist Thomas McManus feels the stock market is "cheaper than it appears," and continues to view equities as favorable to bonds, given that current consensus views on the economy appears to be "overly pessimistic," and that most possible outcomes from the Iraq situation will help the veil of uncertainty that has been impeding global growth. He added that the severe winter weather makes comparisons extremely difficult, since last year's winter was the warmest on record, when adjusting for the U.S. population. McManus continues to recommend a 75 percent weighting for stocks in a balanced portfolio, a 15 percent weighting in bonds and a 10 percent weighting in cash.
