My objection was to this comment from jlallen: 65,000 Iraqis die each year as a result of the misuse of the UN sanctioned oil reveneus* by Saddam. That is a fact.* Message 18708292 "Sanctions" is NOT equal to "Saddam's misuse of oil revenues". His later posts as "proof" were deaths due to sanctions, i.e. lack of medication, etc, and had nothing to do with Saddam's misuse of oil revenues. There would be no need for sanctions if Saddam had complied or left Iraq That is true. Still, I believe we share in the guilt. I cannot understand the rationale behind banning the sale of antibiotics. It is not like they can make a WMD out of antibiotics....
