A CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released on Monday found that 50 percent of Americans would oppose a war if the United States attacked Iraq without a new U.N. vote, while 47 percent would approve of war. The margin of error was 3 percentage points in the poll of 1,129 likely voters, taken March 14 and 15.

* Not surprisingly, the country is evenly split.
