He probably, rightly so, deemed that the media had changed.

And why, and in what form, has media changed??

Could it have something to do with the audience they are trying to attract??

Hitchen has a difficult time, a refugee from one 2-party system searching for a job in another 2-party system.

"Hitchens is a leftie who left The Nation Magazine and is now making a name for himself by embracing as many rightside issues as he can find."

How about naming some of these issues. Hitchens is a bright guy, so surely he can find at least several "rightside issues" every day of the week to embrace. He is also widely known, so they should be easy to find all over the web.

Calling your bluff.

Hitchen's eyes were opened by 9/11 and the way his then political allies reacted. I think that hit him in the gut.
