Er, no, you've got it exactly backwards, that's what makes the whole thing so ironic....

Using recount numbers for just the 'cherry-picked' counties like Palm Beach, etc., and more inclusive rules for recognizing voter's intent on the ballots (accepting 'hanging chads', etc., which is what Gore's people argued in court for) results in a clear win for Bush.

While the one scenario to produce a win for Gore over Bush, was to use the standards that Bush's lawyers argued for: 'strict' standards for ballots (clean punches, no 'hanging chads', accept no absentee ballots past the legal deadline for them), and recount all of Florida's counties... including the panhandle where Bush was strongest.

That's what makes the whole thing so funny!!!!

If either guy had accepted the standards put forward by the other guy, than he would have won!
