Results of the war over the next few weeks will determine the fate of many leaders on all sides who are struggling now. Results of the peace will determine their fates longer term. We are in unknown territory at this time. For instance, it is equally as likely on the eve of war that Bush will be a one-termer or win reelection by a landslide. Chirac may ultimately be more vulnerable than blair. Who knows? I think at this point, given the reality we should all be praying for a good outcome in iraq and for iraqis. mike

That's irrelevant so long as more Tories coming over to his side outnumber any defections.

What it suggests is that Blair is leading from the middle, which is pretty much where he should be..
