If most of the rest of the world is run by dictators and idiots As if we haven't installed and supported our fair share of dictators and idiots. Shah of Iran, Pinochet, etc. yada yada yada Yes, the U.S. has done a lot of good in the world, like the Marshall plan and defeating communism, as you point out. But, the U.S. is amoral when it comes to the morality of our actions. We act when it is in our economic interests to do so (sure there are some exceptions to that rule). We are interested in furthering our economic interest at all costs. Including installing and supporting brutual regimes if necessary. That is how the world really works.
