There is no breach in relations with china. And putin is an opportunist who will dump the french in a heartbeat if "a situation" arises. Relations will be better with france in a year as you say, but probably not much before the year is up. mike

I think you said 'I agree' but I am not sure. I think we are saying much the same thing. At some point after the war I wouldn't be surprised to see a World Summit of some sort. This will let everyone shake hands, support the post-war Iraq efforts publicly, declare victory for a new age of multilateralism and show appreciation for the use of US power 'for the good of freedom and democracy' everywhere.
