I basically agreed but thought the reconciliation with France would (and had better) come sooner than you thought.

At some point after the war I wouldn't be surprised to see a World Summit of some sort. This will let everyone shake hands, support the post-war Iraq efforts publicly, declare victory for a new age of multilateralism and show appreciation for the use of US power 'for the good of freedom and democracy' everywhere.

I don't think it will be as kissy face as that. Your scenario was probable IMO had UN sanction been achieved. It might have taken another month or two but it could have happened. France chose to scuttle the US you say and the US chose to scuttle the UN I say.

I wonder what the world truly thinks? We won't know for awhile. (one to two years perhaps).
