<anybody know why iraq is so disinterested in defending the capital that it lit the city up in the middle of the night? > maybe he wants to make sure the US bombs a defenseless capital in front of a worldwide audience so that he can come out afterwards and tell everyone of all the innocent people that were killed

Only two possibilities I guess. 1) God forbid he actually does have some WMD and he's waiting for proximity to preclude defense against them. 2) After so many years his military has atrophied to the point that they are only left with pea shooters and the enemy is still out of range...
