I was more forgiving of Carter during his presidency because of circumstance, but in the years since, slamming the homeland abroad to make friends is not my idea of proper behavior for a former president.

Salon for the longest time I thought that Jimmy Carter was a failed president but a decent man. It was after 9/11 that I read information showing his ties to Middle Eastern groups from which he received enormous contributions. It was Jimmy Carter that handed the nuclear weapons to that mad man in North Korea. I guess I was just fooled by his mild manner phoney humanitarian bs
