"Apparantly not - if I'm the first one you've heard criticizing him. If you've just come out of a 10 year comma I apologize."

Your response is to:

"I must be honest...you are the first person I have ever heard condemn Ex-President Carter as a private citizen"

DMA? I have NOT been in a coma. The entire world has recognized President Carter with a Nobel Prize. As an American, you could (and SHOULD)...take great pride in that.

With the help of the Canadian "Bastards" he brought the Iran hostages home. He tried to take them by force--the American way. The helicopters crashed. His heart and mind was as good as most Americans--and better than most. You seem like an intelligent guy or gal--whichever it is: Don't lower yourself to gratuitous and hateful attacks against your allies. You were not the President...he was.
