Not wanting to risk conflict between Turkey and the Kurds is hypocritical? How? The Kurds don't trust Turkey, even if we do.

That said, the son of the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan told Peter Jennings last night that his people understand that Turkey wants to see the territorial integrity of Iraq preserved, that Turkey does not want to see the creation of a Kurdish state. Assuming that is Turkey's objective, they need not enter. If their goals are purely humanitarian, to handle a flood of refugees, it does not look like that will be necessary either.

So again, what is your point?
